Codice Fiscale

You'll need an Italian tax code (Codice Fiscale) to open a bank account, sign a lease and many other tasks. Apply at the Italian consulate in the UK before you move.

Residency Registration

UK citizens must register as residents at their local Comune within 90 days. This gives you access to the national health service (SSN) and other public services.

How long does a removal from the UK to Italy take?
Moves to northern Italy (Milan, Turin) take approximately 2 days. Moves to Florence and central Italy take 2–3 days. Rome and southern Italy take 3 days. Compliance with EU drivers' hours rules is maintained throughout.
How does Italian customs clearance work?
We prepare your UK export declaration and the Italian customs forms (distinta doganale). If you qualify for removal relief — having owned items for 6+ months and moving your main residence — your goods can typically be imported duty and tax-free.
Can you deliver to Venice?

Can you move my wine collection to Italy?
Wine is legal to import for personal consumption but quantities must be reasonable. Commercial quantities attract duty. Please let us know about any alcohol in your inventory when booking.
Do I need to be at both ends of the move?
